TransCanada has more than 3,500 employees across 33 U.S. states.

Did you know that we have called the U.S. home for 50 years?

Here are four quick facts about TransCanada’s U.S. footprint.

The majority of TransCanada’s employees live in the U.S.

In 2016, we further strengthened our role in the U.S. natural gas market with the acquisition of Columbia Pipeline Group. In doing so, we welcomed thousands of new employees to the TransCanada team – creating a grand total of more than 3,500 employees across 33 states.

Our U.S. pipe could circle the Earth almost 1.5 times

We operate more than 31,000 miles of pipeline spanning across the U.S. to safely deliver American’s energy needs each day.

In fact, we serve 15 per cent of the U.S. demand for natural gas! That means fuel to heat your homes and to cook your food.

Pssst…Keystone already exists

That’s right – over the past seven years, the Keystone Pipeline System has safely transported 1.5 billion barrels of oil from Alberta to the U.S. Gulf Coast to meet U.S. demand from a trusted neighbor.

Oil gets to market with or without pipelines.

Without sufficient pipelines to safely and reliably deliver oil, more will travel by rail, or arrive by tanker from countries with fewer rules to ensure that companies do things safely and sustainably.
