TC Energy: 65 years of innovation, safety and collaboration in North America

1958: The final weld is completed on what would eventually become the Canadian Mainline natural gas pipeline, built by TC Energy.
The year was 1951, and Canada's population was booming. Energy shortages were becoming a problem, and the country needed to be able to supply its own energy.
A few years later, a newly formed company called TransCanada PipeLines (now TC Energy) stepped up to build what would come to be known as the Canadian Mainline – a natural gas pipeline that brought Western Canadian gas to provinces in the east.
We've come a long, long way since then. And so has North America.
As the continent's energy needs grow and change, TC Energy has remained at the forefront of the safe and reliable transportation of energy that millions rely on every single day.
We're proud to have been a part of your every day for over 65 years.
