Meet Jessica

Jessica has extensive engineering experience working at TC in integrity, collaboration and project development. She is now the Sr. Regional Manager for the USGO South Region and has developed a passion for leadership and using new technology to remain innovative.

“We need diversity to be successful – having women at the table is crucial to that. We have a unique perspective to share that can be a driver for innovation,” shares Jessica. 

Recently, Jessica has noticed many positive shifts in gender diversity in engineering and is seeing more women represented in the workplace as well. She credits this to awareness and representation, and the work the industry is doing to reach out to young women.

“We still have a long way to go – but this positive momentum has been amazing to see and I am excited for what is to come.”  

Meet Carolina

Carolina has an impressive resume – with over 20 years of experience in industrial engineering. She is nearing her sixth year working with TC and is a Field Work Planner in San Juan del Rio, Queretaro.

Although she now is confident expressing her opinion and working in teams – this has not always been the case.

“In previous positions with other companies I felt like there was unwarranted doubts about my abilities because I was a woman,” says Carolina, “my job now has allowed me to succeed in a very respectful work environment.”

Carolina encourages women to follow their passions and pursue careers in engineering even though it may be intimidating. Carolina enjoys seeing more women pursue engineering in the classroom and join the teams she works on.

“It’s not about being male or female, it’s about being an engineer and creating a culture where everyone feels included.”

Meet Tonya

Tonya is originally from Russia but left the country at the age of 14 to pursue high school and study university abroad. Tonya attained her engineering degree at the University of Toronto and was first introduced to TC Energy as a Pipeline Integrity Intern in Risk and Engineering Strategy.

She has held multiple different positions within TC, including field engineer positions working on Keystone XL, Wolf Lake and Clearwater Compressor stations, all being career highlights.

“I was on the team that was the first to deliver a fully constructed pump station for the Keystone XL project – a huge milestone for me. My favorite thing about engineering is seeing a project go from start to finish and being able to transport energy to communities that need it,” Tonya shares. 

Tonya is now a Project Engineer-In-Training for our pipeline reliability projects with Canada Gas.

Tonya’s grandfather has always been a champion for her career. Previously he was the Chief Engineer at one of Russia’s largest iron and steel manufacturing companies – his encouragement made a huge impact on her confidence to work in the field.

Tonya encourages women to pursue careers in engineering. “Be fearless and don’t let other’s opinions hold you back. It might be the best decision that you have ever made – like it was for me,” she adds.  

Meet Morgan

Morgan attended West Virginia University for industrial engineering and joined TC as an intern with Columbia Gas in the Facilities Planning Group. She has worked with the Integrity team and is now a Reliability Engineer in the Asset Excellence team where she monitors compression equipment using real time data.

Morgan encourages women to pursue careers in engineering. “You can do it. I was so fortunate to have a great community in college and at work that have encouraged me to pursue my passion for data analytics,” she shares. 

Morgan graduated with a nearly 60 per cent female class – something unheard of in many STEM programs.

“By pursuing engineering, I have learned what I am capable of. I have received valuable mentorship that has allowed me to advance my career,” shares Morgan. 

Morgan looks forward to building her career and encouraging women to pursue engineering.
