The pipeline connects with the Canadian Mainline near the Ontario/Québec border to transport natural gas to the Montréal and Québec City corridor, and interconnects with the Portland Natural Gas Transmission System from the Northeast US.

Located in Quebec, Bécancour Cogeneration Plant is a high efficient natural gas facility with a production capacity of 550 MW.
