TC Energy responds to Bear Canyon North Extension incident
We can confirm there was an incident at the construction site on the Northwest Mainline (NWML) Loop No. 2 Bear Canyon North Extension section of the North Corridor Expansion Project, near Fairview, Alta. on Aug. 26, 2022. A worker was performing planned construction activities on-site and suffered a non-life-threatening injury. Our emergency procedures were activated and work on-site was immediately suspended. Emergency crews transported the worker by ambulance to the nearest hospital.
The incident was reported to the Transportation Safety Board and the Canada Energy Regulator, and we are maintaining active communication with their staff as we investigate the incident. Work at the incident site continues to be halted. Our top priority is the safety of our people and the communities we work in.
