TC Energy clarifies media reports about GTN XPress (GTNXP)

TC Energy released the following statement to clarify media reports regarding TC Energy’s role in supplying natural gas to power Amazon data centers.

TC Energy is an energy transportation provider and has never discussed or had plans with Amazon to directly deliver natural gas to them.

The GTN XPress Project’s capacity is fully subscribed by its three project shippers, none of which is or was Amazon. Nor did GTN have any agreements with Amazon to provide an interconnect, or tap, into the GTN Pipeline system.

We remain committed to the GTN XPress project which consists of limited software and other upgrades to the existing GTN pipeline system, which would help meet increased demand for natural gas in the region. With FERC’s bipartisan approval of this project and strong support from labor unions, consumers and elected officials, we are committed to putting this important project into service as soon as possible.
