Employee Participation
A Decade of Community Impact
For more than 10 years, TC Energy employees have been a driving force for positive change in our communities across Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Since 2023, our employees have:
- Volunteered 289,558 hours
- Donated C$12,167,178
At TC Energy, we are committed to building strong communities wherever we live and work. Making impactful investments in our communities is a fundamental part of who we are and what we believe in and there is no end to the creative and dynamic ways our employees show up for the causes and organizations they care passionately about.
We support and encourage employees to give back to their communities in ways that resonate with them personally. Whether through fundraising, donating, volunteering, or even simple acts of kindness, we believe we each have the power to make the world a better place.
Through Build Strong, TC Energy provides opportunities for employees to amplify their personal charitable giving and volunteer efforts. Build Strong matches employee donations to eligible Non-Profit organizations at 100 per cent up to $2,000 per person per year. Additionally, TC Energy offers a volunteer time match, providing $15 per hour for up to $1,000 worth of volunteer time per person per year. This allows employees to direct company resources towards the causes and organizations that are most important to them.
Making an impact
We have a deep-rooted culture of giving back. Our people care about the communities where they live and work and are actively invested in seeing them improve and grow. The Build Strong program, which has been in place since 2013, supports a vibrant and engaged workforce by creating a platform for the company to connect with its people and the causes that matter most to them, supporting a performance-driven culture and, ultimately, helping to achieve our business objectives.
Spotlight
FALL CAMPAIGN: NOURISHING OUR NEIGHBOURS
In the U.S., one out of every eight adults struggle to afford enough food. In Canada, one in four adults live in food insecure households, while in Mexico, 10.2 million people live with food insecurity. Beyond these statistics lies an incredible opportunity for us to come together and make a real difference.
By supporting each other, we can help fill empty plates, ease the burden of tough choices, and create a future where no one has to worry about their next meal. Which is exactly what our employees did, through our Nourishing our Neighbours campaign. Employees rolled up their sleeves and showed their creativity by using the non-perishable items to build mini golf courses in our annual Putt-A-Hole in Hunger competition! In 2024, we supported those facing food insecurity by dedicating 6300 volunteer hours, donating 31,495 lbs of food, and donating over $900,000 to different causes.
EMPLOYEE GIVING: TC ENERGY CHARITY CUP
On any given night in Canada, more than 30,000 people are homeless. In 2024, nearly 200 TC Energy employees laced up their skates to change that statistic. Players of all skill-levels hit the ice in Calgary and played in support of the second annual TC Energy Charity Cup.
Bringing together more than 600 players, volunteers and supporters, the TC Energy Charity Cup raised much needed funds and awareness for the homeless in Canada.
Together, with the help from volunteers, the employee committee, families, community support and our Build Strong employee participation match, employees raised more than C$150,000 at the event.
The funds raised will support programing to help alleviate homelessness through partner causes including Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH), Inn From the Cold, YWCA Calgary, Trellis Society and Regeneration Outreach in Ontario.
Through our partnership with Hockey Helps the Homeless, the TC Energy team has raised more than C$831,000 to help alleviate homelessness in our communities by playing in both regular HHTH tournaments and the Charity Cup. The team has already set a goal to break the C$1M raised milestone through the 2025 Charity Cup.
