CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - April 21, 2009) - TransCanada Corporation (TransCanada) (TSX:TRP) (NYSE:TRP) TransCanada will hold its Annual Meeting of Shareholders beginning at 10:00 a.m. (Mountain) / 12:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Friday, May 1, 2009. The meeting will take place at the Roundup Centre in Calgary, Alberta.

TransCanada will release its first quarter 2009 financial results on the morning of Friday, May 1, 2009.
